As the economy re-opens, we will see long queues of shoppers waiting to enter the malls. Most countries have introduced mandatory face masks to protect the public, the benefit of these masks is still to be determined. It is crucial to follow the local guidelines about how to protect ones self from the corona virus.
A few simple steps can protect everyone and prevent the spread of the virus. It is important to maintain a 2 metre distance between yourself and others. Wearing a face mask will prevent you from spreading the droplets when you cough or sneeze, and most likely protect you from being exposed to droplets in the air. Try and avoid visiting the shops and malls at peak hours as the large crowds can increase the risk of the spread of the virus. Always carry a pocket hand sanitizer with you at all times and use it frequently. Have a list of what you plan to purchase so that you limit your time in the store, this is called targeted buying and it will allow you to purchase what you need and reduce the foot fall in the store which will in turn reduce the risk of spread of the virus.
There are uncertain times ahead of us, but we all need to do our bit to kick start the economy. Taking simple precautions will go a long way in protecting the public while getting the economy back on its feet and help us on the road to recovery. Stay safe, stay smart and stay confident!
